Ahmet Aydın Atmaca’s sculptures bring organic forms into contact with architectural and constructivist structures.

From the exhibition Hafıza Kalıntıları

In Hafıza Kalıntıları, Ahmet Aydın Atmaca explores the relationship between body, material and memory. Extensions resembling roots or spider webs create a tension between fluidity and petrification, connection and detachment. As forms change over time, they carry traces of remembering and forgetting. Like remnants buried in the earth awaiting rediscovery, the works suggest a kind of rooting in reverse.
