Seda Boy — Sun
Seda Boy · 2020
About the Work
Sun presents an evocative image of children looking towards the future, attempting to catch the setting sun and lift it back into the sky.
Emerging from darkness, the children symbolize the fruits of a tree enriched by accumulated knowledge and experience. Combining a found photograph with ceramic, glass, wood and light, Seda Boy constructs an eye-shaped installation in which the interplay of illumination and sepia tones reinforces the symbolism of the sun.
The work explores hope, renewal and the passage of knowledge between generations.
