About the artist
Duygu Aydoğan (b. 1987, Elazığ) explores presence and absence through the traces and fragments of the human body. In works informed by posthuman thought, bodily wholeness becomes a question rather than a given: remnants, surfaces and empty spaces offer other ways of reading the figure. The exhibition text for Başka Yer connects this approach to imagining what might remain of human civilisation.
She graduated in Painting from Anadolu University’s Faculty of Fine Arts in 2011 and completed a master’s degree in Visual Arts at Eskişehir Osmangazi University in 2018. Her solo exhibitions include Başka Yer at Galeri Soyut (2020) and Capsule at Büyükdere35 (2022). Her work has also appeared in BASE 2018 and Baselected selections.
